Driving with a burnt-out headlight at night can be dangerous and against local laws and regulations. If your 2013 Honda Civic has a burnt-out headlight, this guide will walk you through how to replace the bulb. When changing the bulb, make sure to be careful to not damage the bulb. Also make sure the vehicle is turn off when starting.

Changing the bulb in a Honda Civic is relatively simple and you’ll be back on the road again in no time!

This guide is applicable to all Honda Civics in the 9th generation, from 2012-2015.

    • Lift the latch to open the car hood.

    • Pry up the center of the fastener with a flat-head screwdriver.

    • Pop the rivet loose and remove it.

    • Remove the wiper fluid tube.

    • Locate the headlight internally.

    • Turn the headlight counter-clockwise to unlock it.

    • Press down on the latch to unlock the bulb from the connector.

    • Remove the burnt-out bulb.

    • Replace with the new bulb.

    This guide nicely provides the key, non-obvious steps for easily replacing the right side high- and low-beams. You cannot replace them without following these instructions!

    The left side high- and low- beams are easily replaced by removing the battery.

Used this guide to replace bulb in my 2013 Honda. Clear pictures and accurate wording made replacement understandable snd Easy!

UK built Civics are different from step 5. Rather than turn the unit anti clockwise there's one of those metal clips you need to unhook by pressing inwards and pushing slightly left (towards the radiator) to release the bulb. Be careful as the stupid clip easily falls out of its hinge slots and you have to do it all by feel and touch as there's no room to see what you're doing.
