Use this guide to replace the SSD on your ASUS TUF Dash F15.

Before you perform this repair, if at all possible, back up your existing SSD. If you are replacing the SSD where your operating system is installed, familiarize yourself with a disk cloning utility so you’ll be ready to migrate your data to the new SSD.

Be sure to completely power off and unplug your laptop. Make sure the laptop is not in standby, sleep, or hibernation mode.

    • Remove the 14 Phillips screws securing the lower case:

    • Seven 8.8 mm screws

    • Seven 10.1 mm screws

    • Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the captive screw.

    • Loosening this captive screw will pop up and separate the bottom-right corner of the back cover from the chassis.

    • During reassembly, tighten the captive screw before the rest of the screws.

Which M.2 slot is the one that supports generation 4?

The one that says "main" that comes with the ssd or the one that comes empty? What happens if I put both ssd of 4 generation? I understand one is 3rd gen and the other one is 4th gen, is that right? Which one is which one? Can I leave the one that comes with it 500 Gb and buy 1tb nvme pcie 4.0 for the other slot? Thanks

    Kevin -

Kevin, both SSD slots support PCIe NVMe generation 3 and 4. So you can put your 1 TB NVMe PCIe 4.0 in either slot.
