Before replacing or upgrading the RAM, make sure that the replacement RAM is compatible with the laptop. Acer Aspire 7736Z-4809 supports the DDR2 667MHz memory,240-pin soDIMM RAM with the capacity of up to 2GB.

    • Use the Phillips #1 screwdriver to remove the eight 6.5 mm Phillips #1 screws.

    • Only the four screws in the center are removable, the four along the edges are held in by rivets but can be loosened.

    • Remove the back panel of the laptop.

    • Connect a grounding cord to a metal interface on the laptop.

    • Ground the laptop to prevent static electricity from damaging the electrical components inside the laptop.

    • Release the tabs on the RAM by bending the tabs away from the RAM.

    • The RAM will rise upwards at an angle.

    • Pull the RAM out of the slot.

    • If you are replacing both sticks of RAM, repeat the previous step for removing the RAM.

It’s a laptop and what you are holding is a 200-pin soDIMM RAM module.

Not only is it 200-pin soDIMM module instead of a 240-pin soDIMM module, it's a pc2-6400 (800MHz) and not a pc2-5300 (667MHz).
