If your touch pad is not working and you have tried other troubleshooting options, it may need to be replaced. This guide will teach you how to replace the touch pad for this laptop. Be sure to fallow all of them steps in order. Make sure there is no AC power connected to the device before starting.

Using the plastic opening tool, lift up on the side opposite of the Ethernet connector.

With the plastic opening tool under the bottom panel, work your way around the perimeter until the panel separates.

Remove the two 6mm Phillips #0 screws from the fan.

Disconnect the fan from the motherboard.

Remove the four 6mm Phillips #0 screws from the heat sink.

Lift and remove the heatsink assembly from laptop.

Lift the motherboard up from the narrow side and jiggle slightly so that way it doesn't get caught on the ports of the laptop case.

Use a spudger to flip up the retaining flap on the touchpad ribbon cable ZIF socket.

Remove the ribbon cable from the ZIF socket.

Lift the touchpad up by the side closest to the middle of the laptop and pull up towards you to remove.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
