This replacement guide will teach the reader the proper way to remove the fan from their Acer Aspire ES1-711-P1UV. If the laptop is consistently getting too hot on the bottom or is making loud sounds that resemble that of a fan, the fan may need to be replaced. The fan serves to cool down the computer to prevent overheating. If the laptop gets too hot, it may shut down or damage the other mechanics.

Place the laptop face down on a flat, clean surface.

Remove all twenty-seven 7 mm screws on the back cover of the laptop with a Phillips #0 screwdriver. Screws are circled in red on the diagram.

Use the iFixit opening tool to pry open the four corners of the back cover of the laptop. You may need to use your hands to fully remove the cover.

Be sure to evenly apply pressure when removing the back cover.

Disconnect the colored bundled cable connectors from the motherboard. To do this, pull on the wires to disconnect the cable and remove the battery.

Locate and remove the 5 mm screw using the Phillips #0 screwdriver.

Unscrew the four 5mm screws still holding down the fan.

Disconnect the red, white, black, and yellow bundled cable connectors from the motherboard by gently pulling them.

Remove the fan assembly.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
