If there is an issue with the charging port on your Acer Aspire, there might be an issue with the power connector. If your laptop is not charging or is charging irregularly, replacing the power connector might help alleviate these issues.

    • Turn off your laptop and disconnect the power adapter.

    • Locate and remove all 12 Phillips #00 6mm screws on the backside of the laptop.

    • Using your prying tool, carefully remove the back panel.

    • Locate the power connector, as shown on the left.

    • The power connector will be in the same location as where you normally plug the charger into the laptop to charge your device.

    • Disconnect the wiring from the motherboard, and pull out the rest of the wire carefully.

    • Make sure the wire is not caught on anything before pulling.

    • Pull out the power connector by pulling upwards on the wires.

    • This may require a small amount of force, but should pop out with some pressure.
