Einleitung

Removing the keyboard may take a some effort and a little bit of patience, but you can do it!

    • Locate and remove the two 5.3 mm Phillips #1 screws holding the back panel in place.

    • Use a spudger to pry the panel up from the laptop case and remove it.

    • The laptop should now be open with the RAM and wifi chip now accessible.

    • Locate the wifi chip.

    • Remove the 5 mm Phillips #1 screw holding the wifi chip in place.

    • Carefully remove the wifi chip.

    • Remove the 8, 9 mm Phillips #1 screws holding the panel in place.

    • Flip the computer over, and with a spudger, remove the black panel directly below the keyboard.

    • Remove the panel and flip it up onto the keyboard

    • With the panel removed, locate the USB port ribbon cable connecting to the motherboard.

    • Carefully disconnect the ribbon cable.

    • Unscrew the 5 mm Phillips #1 screw holding the USB ports in place.

    • The USB ports can now be removed from the laptop.

    • Flip the laptop and remove all 10 of the remaining 9mm screws from the back.

    I had to remove 11 screws. The one underneath the battery.

    • Use a spudger to gently lift the keyboard.

    The photos for Step 11 show the USB ports still in place. Why did you remove them in Step 9 if it wasn't necessary?

    This is by no stretch how to remove this keyboard. I will not get into specifics. However, depending what model V3 you may have there could be as many as 35 screws to get to the keyboard, thats what my V3-571 had and you most definitely do not remove the usb board or the wireless board…get the service manual here….free & no hoops to jump…https://tinyurl.com/ya2tcuwd

    ifixit has lots of good info, but in this case here they left out about 2/3 what you’ll go through to get to this keyboard…always be sure you do your homework before relying on help from any site…
