If your Echo Show's screen does not respond or is cracked, you might need to follow this guide to replace it. Before starting, gather a iFixit opening tool. Remember to carefully use your hands to remove the screen, as applying too much pressure might damage the screen further.

    • Once the protector is lifted from screen, use the plastic opening tool to remove the actual screen from device, using an opening near the bottom left corner.

    • Once both parts are removed from the device, you can insert the new screen itself. Make sure that the digitizer cable of the new screen is placed within the recess when replacing the screen.

    • If necessary, use adhesive to more firmly secure the LCD or the protector screen to the rest of the device.

My Echo Show second generation recently fell and the screen has a crack and two chipped edges. I contacted customer service (March 8, 2020) and still there are no replacement parts available. I was also offered 15% off a new device (approx $30) toward the purchase of another. Sad, as I purchased the unit for $133 on Amazon just before Christmas and the device currently retails for $230. All I want is to replace the screen for an otherwise functioning device, not buy an entire new unit. I would expect Amazon to be able to do better and sell replacement parts for their devices.

Where do you dug replacement glass for

the echo show 5

There is no glass replacement. I just got off the phone with Amazon Customer Support and they do not manufacture glass replacement pieces. In other words, if you break the glass you are out of luck. I've submitted feedback (via telephone customer support) for Amazon to begin producing replacement parts and urge you to do the same. Problem with being an early adapter is that what is normal protocol for business (in this case making replacement parts) is not yet developed.

Unfortunate since now I have a $230 awesome piece of tech that has a shattered screen. Customer service gave me $30 :/

You REALLY should remind folks that the front screen is a digitizer and has a delicate ribbon cable coming off it about 1 1/2 inches from the left lower corner. If you use a pry tool there, you’ll slice the ribbon and ruin the digitizer. Don’t ask me how I know! I now have an Echo show with no touch screen capability. Lower left corner about an inch and a half toward the center. No glue there but if you slide a spudger along there, you’ll cut it for sure. Word to the wise……

Yes…. &&^&^$^ ribbon! Where do you get a digitizer. And a power and speaker supply

Any info on the brand / model number for the digitizer assembly, and any info on how to drive it? I would like to replace the “brains” of my Echo Show 10 2nd Gen with something like a Raspberry Pi. (Not too concerned about Touch, Sound, Mic, though if it was possible to make those work, all the better. Really just need video.). TIA!

Human error and my Echo Show 10 fell and the screen broke. Contacted Amazon customer service to be told that there was nothing they could do, no replacement exchange or repairs available. Warranty insurance doesn’t help as it was not a manufacturer defect. I was offered a 10% discount. Nothing compared to the 250.00 I paid to purchase. Just SOL, how comforting. As big a company that Amazon is, one would think customer satisfaction was a priority. Mistakes do happen. I just made a year of owning my Echo 10. Highly disappointed.
