Einleitung
These step-by-step instructions will guide you on replacing the RAM module currently installed on your ASUS Eee PC, model 1005PXD-BLK024S, whether if you’re replacing a faulty module or upgrading/downgrading it. This computer only has one RAM slot, which will accept any DDR3 SO-DIMMs (Small Outline Dual In-line Memory Modules). However, the CPU on this computer will only recognize up to 2GB of RAM, so any extra memory the module has will be wasted.

The first thing you should do when disassembling electronic devices in general is to disconnect it from any power source. Make sure the AC adapter isn't connected to the laptop before you start.
-
Turn the laptop upside down, with the battery side closest to you. Unlock the left slider by pressing it to the left. It will stay in this position.
-
Now slide the right slider to the right. This one won't lock in position, so you must slide the battery towards you while pressing this slider to the right to remove it.
-
-
-
Unscrew the Phillips screw holding the RAM module cover.
-
Carefully lift the cover, so not to break any of the 3 plastic tabs holding it to the bottom cover of the laptop (two on the left, one on the right).
-
-
-
Push the two metal brackets holding the module to the side, away from the module. This will make it pop up.
-
-
-
Grab the RAM module and pull it to the left.
-
You now have an empty RAM slot where you can place your replacement module.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
