Einleitung

Replacing the trackpad on the Asus G501JW-BHI7N12 is a repair that can be done even by new/ low experienced fixers. Should a trackpad become unable, it can make simple task very difficult. Removing the trackpad for a replacement saves you a lot of time, that is normally lost when you sent the laptop out to a repair shop.

    • Attach the clip of your anti-static wrist strap to the case of the laptop. This prevents any accidents that could fry the motherboard.

    • Remove the four 7.0mm Philips #0 screws around the battery.

    • Unplug the connector highlighted in this picture by pulling it up and out of it's seating, then pull the battery away from the motherboard and remove the battery.

    • Attach anti static wrist strap to your hand and clip to the laptop case.

    • Unscrew and remove the four 5mm Phillips #0 screws from the cooling fan.

    • Remove 4 pin connector from mother board.

    • Slide cooling fan out from underneath the copper heat sink.

    • The cooling fan will be clipped to the case, we suggest pulling it toward the front of the case. Using the spudger can be helpful to work the fan loose.

    • One of the fans will have a connector that partially covers it. Pull the connector loose by flipping up the plastic clamps on both ends and follow steps 2-4.

    • Using the Phillips #0 screwdriver, remove the six 5 mm screws located along the copper heat sink.

    • Using the same Phillips #0 screwdriver, remove the nine 4 mm screws located around the motherboard.

    • Gently remove the motherboard.

    • Using the Phillips #0 screwdriver, remove the three 4 mm screws attached to the trackpad.
