If your Asus laptop is insufficiently holding a charge or having issues properly turning on or off, it may be time to replace the battery. Make sure that you replace the current battery with an Asus B41N1341 battery pack to avoid any chance of the laptop overheating or overcharging.

    • Ensure your device is powered off before starting.

    • Flip the laptop over and remove the ten 10 mm Phillips #1 screws securing the back panel.

Q504UA notebook has two hidden screws under back two slider pads making it 12 screws total to open not 10

    • Using a plastic opening tool, lift the battery straight upward to remove it.

    • There are a series of eight small wires connecting the battery to the motherboard. Make sure you gently lift the battery straight up to disconnect these wires and prevent damage.

I would like to know if the connector needs to slide out to the right or if it also needs to pop out the top away from the motherboard?

The connector lifts straight up. Use a thin flat plastic tool, like the Ifixit opening tool, to gently pry under each end of the connector and it’ll pop off.

Before I take this on…more details on the wires??? With connectors or what?

Got as far as the removal from wires. How is that done. A total newbie. I just lifted the battery slightly. Would this help with the static or do I totally need to remove the battery? Laptop shows battery is almost fully charged. There is not a green light.

Mine has no green light at first but after battery reaches full state it is there. However annoyingly flickers (screen and all) between charge state and discharging at full. Luckily seems to work fine across the whole range of charging. Can't believe this Q502LA is still holding on after 8 years :) Wondering if there is any battery drive/update?
