this is a step-by-step guide to repair your computer that has issue with longer booting, but other auxiliary components are still functional. It is important that all components disassemble in this repair are organized neatly to ensure there are no missed parts from the Motherboard. Make sure you pay attention throughout this repair of the motherboard you will need to remove most major internal components.

    • Use the T5 Torx screwdriver to remove the ten 1mm screws located around the back cover.

    • Remove the two rubber pads nearest to you using the metal spudger.

    • Use the Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the two 4mm screws that are under the rubber pads.

    • Insert any of the plastic opening tools into the seam to separate the back cover (it is recommended to start at the corner of the hinges). If you did it right, then the cover should pop off.

    • Be careful as you may damage the tabs.

    Another good place to start is at the USB port near the SD card slott. Work toward the hinge first, then back down the short side. There are 5 strong tabs on each short side, and several weaker tabs on the front and between the hinges. The tabs are attached to the bottom. Once one short side is nearly free and the front seam is not totally closed, then try pushing the bottom toward the free short side (at most 1/2 mm) which can make the other tabs easier to “pop”.

    • Use the small plastic opening tool to remove the ZIF Connector on the right side of the battery.

    • Remove the battery from the device.

    • Once the back cover is removed, have the laptop facing upside down with the hinges facing nearest to you.

    • Using a Phillips #0 screwdriver, remove the three black 4mm screws located around the heat sink fan.

    • Using the same screwdriver, remove the four 4mm black screws around the copper lining

    • First remove the screw in the red circle.

    • Then remove the screw in the orange circle.

    • Next remove the screw in the yellow circle.

    • Finally, remove the screw in the green circle.

    • For this step, it helps to remove the screws in this order to prevent damage to the heat sink.

    • Use a pair of tweezers to pull and disconnect the cable located to the right of the heat sink fan.

    • Take caution when removing the cable. Damaging the cable will stop the part from working.

    • Carefully unravel the cables (two black and one white) to the left of the heat sink fan.

    • Remove the heat sink from the device.

    Some conventions say to gently disconnect the battery cable from the circuit board before working with other cables.

    • Use the Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the eight 4mm screws around the hard drive casing (located next to the Right [R] speaker).

    • Start off with the four black outer screws so that the casing can be released from the laptop unit.

    • The next sequence of screws to remove are the four silver screws.

    You should disconnect the data cable from the mb and pull the whole cage & drive assembly before you take out the silver screws or detach the cable from the drive to make it easier to insert or remove the drive.

    • Lift the hard drive and disconnect the hard drive sliding connector.

    • Be careful when removing the connector from the hard drive, as damaging that cable could cause damage to the hard drive.
