Einleitung

This guide shows how to replace the Wi-Fi chip from the motherboard of the Asus VivoBook. The Wi-Fi chip allows the laptop to wirelessly connect to internet. In rare cases, the Wi-Fi chip may need to be replaced if a power surge fries the chip or the chip itself is defective.

    • Before doing a repair or replacement make sure the laptop is fully shut off.

    • Using the JIS #0 Screwdriver, unscrew the ten 10 mm screws that hold the back casing in place

    • Insert the flat edge of the opening tool in between the back casing to remove the back casing.

    • Try to use the opening tool at multiple points. Lifting the back casing abruptly could damage the laptop.

    • Use a JIS #0 Screwdriver to remove the one 3.0 mm screw.

    • Disconnect the black and white wires that provide power and data transfer to the Wi-Fi chip.
