This guide will teach you how to carefully remove and replace a broken or torn ear cushion for the Bose QuietComfort 25. For safety reasons and to ensure that no other parts break in the process, remove the connector cord from the Bose QuietComfort 25 and remove the alkaline battery from the battery compartment.

    • Firmly grasp the ear cushion.

    • Remove the ear cushion by slowly pulling the cushion up and away from the Bose QuietComfort 25.

    • The cushion will suddenly come loose from the plastic fasteners. Maintain a firm grasp on the Bose QuietComfort 25 to ensure that it does not slip and break.

    • Lay the replacement ear cushion on top of the earphone.

    • The plastic bottom edge of the ear cushion should align with the circumference of the earphone.

    • Using an iFixit opening tool (or your finger or nail), push down on the plastic edge of the ear cushion to fit it under the nine plastic fasteners on the inside of the earphone.

    • After the ear cushion is in place, the nine fasteners should be visible if you pull the cushion to the center of the earphone.

If you use your nails, it’s easier to push mostly inward instead of straight down.
