This guide will teach you how to replace ink cartridges for the Canon Bubblejet i80.

    • Disconnect printer from power before making any repairs.

    • Remove the two screws on the back left of the printer using the Phillips 00 screwdriver.

    • Push down and slide the tabs on both sides of the back of the printer away from the device to remove the tabs.

    • Insert the iFixit opening tool in the seam on the rear of the device and pry apart the outer plastic casing.

    • This will take a bit of force, so don't be alarmed if you have to pull very hard to open the casing.

    • Remove the color cartridge on bottom first, then remove the black cartridge afterwards.

    • Push the empty ink cartridge gently to the right to unlock.

    • Slide the cartridge upward and away from the device to remove the cartridge.

    • The black cartridge always goes into the top slot, color cartridge in bottom slot.

    • Install replacement cartridges by placing the cartridge in the port on the right hand side first, then push down to lock into place.

    • Cartridge will click when inserted correctly.

Why go through all this hassle? Just turn on the printer and open the black smoke color door, the cartridge should return to center position where you have to just press the tab on the left side of each ink cartridge, tip the cartridge up and snap the new one in. takes less than 1 minute.

The printer is a great little work horse and really gets the job done!

Yes, my sentiments exactly! As I was reading these directions I was wondering what non-tech person did not even try lifting up the black lid to replace the cartridges? This is easy. Geez, a person could break their printer following the above directions with the screwdriver!!!
