Einleitung

Use this guide to replace an LCD screen on a Canon PowerShot SD780 IS.

The LCD screen is a monitor that displays photos. When the screen is cracked or broken it can distort or not display the images clearly. If you notice you have difficulty seeing the images on the screen, you should replace the LCD screen.

Before beginning this process, make sure your device is powered off and unplugged from the charger.

    • Turn the camera off by pressing the power button.

    • Also, make sure the battery is removed, as to avoid any shock injuries. To remove the battery located at the bottom corner of the camera, slide the panel towards the corner. Push the orange tab upwards and remove the battery.

    • Remove five screws from the camera casing using a Phillips #00 screwdriver.

    • There are two 2 mm screws located on the left side of the camera.

    • Remove the front panel of the camera case to expose the top left copper strip.

    • Gently pull the copper strip upward and disconnect it from the camera.

    • Remove the screw on the far left-hand side of the front of the camera using a Phillips #00 screwdriver.

    • Carefully pull the case apart at the seam. The case will detach from the camera in two pieces.

    • Remove the indicated "L" shaped bracket from around the top and right side of the LCD screen.

    • Insert the flat side of your spudger tool carefully into the top of the LCD screen and lift the screen free.

    • Set the broken screen aside and place the new screen on top of the LCD screen.
