This guide will show you how to replace the keyboard of the HP Chromebook 14-x015wm. After continual use, the keyboard may become unresponsive, if this is the case it is fairly easy to replace the keyboard rather than get a new computer. This guide outlines opening the case to get access to the components which connect the keyboard.

    • Flip the laptop back over to the front and open it so that the keyboard is visible.

    • Use the iFixit opening tool to pry off the keyboard by placing the tool in-between the keyboard and the case. Move the tool around all sides until the keyboard separates.

    • The keyboard will likely be difficult to remove.

    • Be careful to avoid pulling on the ribbons that connect the keyboard to the internal components in order to prevent damage.
