This guide will show you how to remove and replace the hard drive for your Dell Inspiron 1100 laptop.

    • Turn the computer over, and remove the two M2.5 x 5-mm hard drive screws.

    • CAUTION: If you remove the hard drive from the computer when the drive is hot, do not touch the metal housing of the hard drive.

    • Slide the Hard Drive out of the computer.

    • Insert the drive into the bay, and push the hard drive until it is fully seated in the bay.

    • Replace and tighten the two M2.5 x 5-mm screws.
