Replacing a BIOS battery is a quick and easy fix. This guide will show how to open the case and replace the battery inside.

    • Unscrew the two highlighted screws in this image

    • With both screws removed, slide the side panel toward the back of the computer to open the case.

    • The BIOS battery has to be removed properly to avoid damaging the motherboard. Using either your fingers or a spudger, press the small metal tab securing the battery to remove it

    • Insert a new battery, reattach the side panel, and you've successfully replaced the BIOS battery.
