If the touchpad on your Dell Latitude 3380 does not respond quickly or is lagging, it might be time to replace it.

Before starting the replacement, make sure to power down the laptop completely and drain the battery by pressing the power button a few times. Also, make sure to have the touchpad replacement and tools.

    • Turn the laptop over so that the back is facing up.

    • Remove the nine 3 mm screws with a Phillips #0 screwdriver.

    • Use an opening tool to pry the back cover away from the laptop.

    • Remove the three 3 mm screws using a Phillips #0 screwdriver

    • Disconnect the the cable connected to the battery using a spudger.

    • Lift up on the outer edges of the battery to remove it from the laptop.

    • Unplug the touchpad cable using a spudger.

    • Remove the seven screws with a Phillips #0 screwdriver.

    • Remove the metal plate and place it to the side.

    • Remove the three screws with the Phillips #0 screwdriver.

    • Remove the touchpad from the laptop.
