Einleitung

This guide will walk you through the steps that are required to disassemble and replace the screen on your Dell Precision M6600. Make sure to have the iFixit Opening Tool, and the Pro Tech Toolkit, before beginning the following steps.

Schritt 1

Open the laptop.
Make sure that the laptop charger is not connected to the battery before continuing to the next step.

Easier to remove the battery before opening the laptop.

Make sure the laptop is shut down properly, unplug the charging cable (if it was plugged in), close the laptop and remove the battery.

Schritt 2

Use the ifixit opening tool to remove the plastic border around the screen.

Schritt 3

Unscrew all the highlighted areas so the screen is unattached from the plastic.

Schritt 4

You can now carefully pull the golden cable out from the screen. You will now be able to re-assemble with your replacement screen.

Hey! I am on the hunt for a guide on how to install a 30 pin panel into the m6600. My 40 pin LVDS connector shorted and has broken pins so I am attempting to use the 30 pin connector included on the PCB. I’ve heard I need some sort of daughter board adapter inside the display housing to drive a 30 pin panel and I’m curious if you guys can figure this out. I can’t really find that much information about it.
