Skills you will need to be familiar with are soldering. Besides a new battery, you will also need access to a soldering kit.

  1. EGMqfCG6AdPmT6mA
    • The rear panel is secured to the front case and can simply be pried apart without damage.

  2. 4cbUBZG6tG16WLPs
    • Carefully, wedge the plastic opening tool in-between the seam that separates both halves of the tablet.

  3. ZONBl1DAUyoFOOMn
    • Run the plastic opening tool along the seam looking for the clips and lift up on the rear panel.

  4. JFiVHPl3Qiedm1Cn
    • The rear panel should come completely off.

  5. rVvCEIvXiOM2nJNW
    • Cut only the red and black wires attaching the battery to the motherboard.

    • Be sure to remove any remaining wire attached to the motherboard.

  6. bApXGuCRqSbaaEDk
    • Using a metal spudger, carefully pry the battery away from the digitizer.

    • Be careful to not damage the battery. This could result in injury.

  7. 5DrK25NlORs21Eqx
    • Using wire strippers, strip the ends of the red and black wires connected to the the new battery back about a 1/8".

    • Twist the strands of the spliced wire together.

    • Using a soldering iron, apply heat to one bare wire connections you have just made.

    • When the connection is hot enough melt solder on the opposite side of the wire to the iron as shown in the image. Do not melt to much solder.

    • Once connection is made wait for it to cool off and gently pull each side of the wire to test durability.

    • Repeat this process with the other wire.

    • If you do not have access to a soldering iron, leave the old battery wires attached to the motherboard and simply splice the new battery's wires to them.

    • This video provides basic instructions for splicing wires using crimping and heat shrink technique.
