In the case of a smelly device or loss of suction, a filter cleaning or replacement may help to maintain the Dyson V8 Absolute. It is important that the filters are cleaned frequently, at least once a month. The device contains a pre-filter and the HEPA filter. The HEPA filter, is filtering post cycled air through the device. The pre-filter is the initial filtering of debris suctioned.

    • First, make sure the device is unplugged.

    • Pull the pre-filter up by the knob.

    • Twist the HEPA filter to the left, matching up two black dots on the device and pulling away.
