You get to work in the morning and you head into the breakroom. You put the filter and ground coffee into the basket and press brew and the machine starts to blink it's activity light, but no coffee comes out!

Here is a guide to fixing a stuck pump on a Curtis TLP commercial office coffee machine so you can be the hero of the day at work.

    • Remove the plastic plug and drain water into a 5 gallon bucket or a drain. A hemostat would be useful to clamp the drain line before removing the plug to prevent any spillage.

    • When the machine is empty, reinsert the plug into the hose.

    • Locate the interior wheel of the pump. When the pump switches on, this turns and pumps water from the boiler to the spray head. This is usually stuck with scale or rust. Turn the wheel to the right and left until the scale cracks and the pump can spin freely.

    • Tilt the coffee machine on its side again and insert the pump, aligning the screw holes.

    • Connect the two power leads, matching the colors of the wires.

    • Replace the four bottom screws to firmly attach the pump to the machine's frame.

    • Turn on water and power back to the machine and then switch it on.

    • You should hear the machine filling it's boiler with water.

    • Once the Ready light is solid red, try to brew coffee and celebrate that you fixed a stuck pump!

    • Look inside the side of the machine with the panel still off and check for leaks. Once clear, reattach the side panel with three screws.
