Hello!
In this guide I will show you how to remove and replace keyboard in your Fujitsu Lifebook E546 laptop! It isn't hard at all, but as always I recommend to take your time to do it. I do not take responsibility for any damage you do!

Before replacing anything from your laptop, remember to remove the battery.
-
Pull down and hold the little tab (1). Then move the second tab (2) left. Now your battery lock should be secured in OPEN position.
-
Pull battery out by that notch (3) in the middle.
-
-
-
Now remove eigth (8) screws. At the picture, lower two are from keyboard, upper 6 are for plastic cover (second picture) between screen and keyboard.
-
With screws removed, you can remove that plastic piece (second picture) by gently pulling it out from either of sides (picture 3). Using some plastic tool or guitar pick is recommended.
-
-
-
Now, with plastic cover removed, simply pull keyboard upwards. Not too hard, since it is still connected to the motherboard.
-
There is ZIF (Zero Insertion Force) socket. Use some wooden pick or thin plastic tool to open the connector by pulling out that brown part by either of sides.
-
With connector open, keyboard cable should be free to pull out. Do not use force, as these are delicate parts.
-
Connecting cable back is a bit tricky - make sure cable is seated properly and tab pushed in and secured.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
