The Garmin fenix 6X Sapphire is a fitness watch identified by Garmin as part numbers 010-02157-10, 010-02158-10, and 010-02159-10, depending on the size of the case. The display acts as the face of the watch, displaying the time and any apps that are opened. In order to access the motherboard and battery, the screen needs to be removed. Signs that a screen needs to be replaced on the Garmin fenix 6X Sapphire are: black segments where the screen should display something else, lines running across the screen that shouldn’t be there, or the screen displaying nothing when the watch is clearly on (vibrating, beeping). When disconnecting the display be mindful of the connector ribbons and electrostatic discharge.

    • Orient the watch so that the screen is face up.

    • Remove the five 6 mm black screws from the perimeter of the watch face using the T5 Torx screwdriver.

    • Carefully lift up the watch face as it's attached to the motherboard by a ribbon connector.

    • Detach the black connector from the motherboard.

    • A spudger can be used if you have trouble prying the piece with your fingers.

    • Don't pull on the ribbon as it could tear.

    • When the ribbon is disconnected remove the watch face.

Mr. Wu -

Hi! thank you for the tutorial! do you know if a non-sapphire crystal can be replaced with a sapphire one? I got the non-sapphire watch 2 years ago and I keep scratching it.
