Einleitung

A brief on opening, & replacing thermal unit & correcting a cooling problem with this 2015 model & all other laptops.

    • Remove all cables, power to laptop. On the bottom of LT, remove & discard rubber feet, destroyed on removal. Remove 12 phillips screws, 00, under the rubbers & gently pry bottom from laptop with a slight forward pressure to clear the tabs holding the bottom at the rear-cover should come off easily after this with access to fans & cooling.

    • Remove all phillips screws holding thermal unit w/fans, clean 2 processors of old thermal paste with alcohol & instal new thermal unit, paste already applied to new unit from HP. Recable unit, replace screws & close bottom of the LT. Add 4 self-stick rubber feet to the bottom to raise the pc @ 1/4" off a flat surface-this allows better air flow.

    • Reattach power & cables, power up-R&R complete, no break-in required
