    • Turn computer off before starting.

    • Turn computer over and begin removing noticeable 8mm screws with a Phillips #0 screwdriver.

    • Some screws may be hidden under a screw cover.

    • Simply use a metal spudger to pop off the screw cover to unveil the hidden 8mm screw.

    • Screw cover may fly when removing.

    • Once screws are removed you may now remove the optical drive.

    • Remove the hidden 3mm screw in the optical drive port.

    • Remove the rubberized feet located on the left and right shoulder of the computer to uncover hidden 8mm screws.

    • Popping noises are normal.

    • The shoulder caps are removable. Underneath there are 2 additional screws.

    Both sholders of the computer need to be popped off.

    • 17 screws should be removed up to this point.

    Yes I’m wondering the same thing. I see just the keyboard for sale online, but it appears it may have plastic rivets that connect it to the top panel. Can anyone confirm this to be the case, that the keyboard itself can be removed from the top panel? Is the keyboard held to the top panel assembly by screws or by rivets?

    Wow im wandering the same thing. I bought a keyboard replacement online but its just the keyboard. How the heck are we supposed to change just that.

    Bros, I just cracked the code…! You have to pry the thin metal frame off using a small picking tool or even a butter knife.

    Slide in your knife or pick and pull up a tad; the melted plastic points with slip back or crack away just enough to pull the frame off. Then you can pull out that old keyboard an slide in your replacement.

    • Pull straight out to avoid damage to connectors.
