Use this guide to replace the LCD on your HP ElitePad 900.

    • Unscrew the two 2.8mm Phillips #000 screws near the power connector.

    • Use a suction cup to pull the display assembly up.

    Several of the clips that hold the screen in appear to be spring loaded and magnetic. I theorize that the official replacement tool contains magnets that pushes those clips back toward the center of the screen, releasing them. I’m wondering if the same thing could be accomplished with the proper end of a bar magnet. I do know that if you lay the removed screen down on the 6 little screws that hold the battery in, you will have a devil of a time finding them stuck to one of the clips. At least the floor of the shop got a good sweeping. ;^)

    • Use the tip of a spudger to disconnect the two display ZIF connectors.

    • Remove the four 1.6mm Phillips #000 screws securing the LCD to the digitizer.

    • Use the tip of a spudger to disconnect the ribbon cable ZIF connector.

    • Use a plastic opening tool to separate the LCD from the digitizer.
