This guide explains how to replace the memory module (also known as RAM) in an HP Pavilion 14-n018us.

The memory module is a printed circuit board on which memory integrated circuits are mounted. It allows the computer to temporarily store data that needs to be accessed quickly. If your RAM starts going bad, it will result in frequent crashes, slow performance, or errors occurring during startup. If you are experiencing any problems, or are just interested in upgrading your RAM for increased performance, use this guide to replace your RAM.

    • Push outwards on the two retaining clips on either side of each RAM chip to release the chips.

    • Use a pair of ESD-safe tweezers to gently slide the two memory modules out from the assembly.

    • If you don't have a suitable pair of tweezers, it's okay to use your fingers to remove the RAM chips. Just be sure to handle the chips by their edges, as skin contact on the faces of the chips can damage them.
