Replacing the RAM module may help if your laptop has trouble with multitasking (Example: Crashes with a lot of windows open). This guide will also help you if you want to upgrade your memory by adding another memory module.

Before beginning this procedure, you will need to unplug everything that is plugged into the laptop, turn the laptop off, and remove the battery. Make sure your hands are clean and dry.

    • Turn the laptop upside down, so that the bottom is facing up.

    • Lift the battery upwards and out of the laptop.

    • Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the single Phillips 3.0 x 10.5 mm screw that fastens the service panel to the laptop.

    • Slide the service panel towards you to loosen it from the laptop.

    • Locate the RAM module.

    • To release the RAM module, spread the retaining tabs on each side of the RAM module away from each other.

    • Be gentle. You are working with sharp edges.
