Be sure to turn off the computer and remove the battery in order to avoid any electrical hazards and further damages to the hard drive. An improper shutdown or the hard drive receiving power while being removed may lead to file corruption.

    • To remove the battery, pull the tab to the left and lift the battery from the computer.

    • Using a #0 Phillips Head screwdriver, unscrew the hard drive cover.

    • The screws cannot be removed from the cover.

    • To remove the cover, lift up and to the left.

    • Using a #0 Phillips Head screwdriver, remove the screws holding the hard drive in place.

    • These are the two screws located on the right side of the hard drive.

    • Lift the tab connected to the hard drive in order to remove it.

    • The hard drive may be difficult to remove by grabbing the tab. In this case, use the spudger to gently pry it from the computer.

Hi, I have a seagate hard drive that was mounted on a hp pavillon dv series computer. I only have the hard disk and I can not find any serial adapter that can be connected to the hard disk connector. I saw on amazon and ebay but I did not find anything. Can you help me? Thank you!
