Use this guide to replace the HEPA filter and replace or clean the air intake dust filters on a Hamilton-C3 ventilator.

The HEPA filter removes particulate matter from the air to help avoid potential cross-contamination and therefore the spread of infection in a hospital environment. It needs to be replaced yearly or every 5000 hours, whichever comes first, or as necessary. The dust filters filter out coarser particulates to prevent the HEPA filter from becoming clogged up and ineffective. They should be checked for dust and lint every month (or more often, if necessary) and cleaned or replaced if need.

A neglected HEPA filter or neglected dust filters could create issues with the air supply if the filters become clogged to the point where an insufficient amount of air can be drawn through them so consistent maintenance is essential.

For more information on replacing the air intake filters, please refer to page 201 in the operator’s manual.
