Question,, I have a 1999. Ford F150 4x4 5.4 engine. Was making a clanking noise last night I was going down road and it shut off. I thought it jumped timing, but this dude told me to check the torque converter. Could this be true, or the bad news that it is my engine. Please help. Thank You. Reply to: Sahutto122666@gmail.cim
Bought an old Suzuki Ute Trayback to use around the farm. Previous owner’ s children drove it 5 km morning and afternoon to catch school bus. It has some mods like an electric fuel pump on an extra large fuel tank probably part of the conversion to a trayback.
it starts ok, lots of choke, will idle for twenty minutes, no probs, but when I drive it around it starts to run rough after ten minutes or so. Gradually it loses power, seems to be running on three cylinders then stops and won't restart until it cools right down about half an hour later. No sign of overheating on gauge, has oil and water.

Feeling desparate can torque converter cause problems associated with the engine?

I doubt that it's a torque converter, without hearing it I'd have no idea what's going on , Id have a repatable technician take a look at it
