-
Thread the wool needle by inserting the yarn through the needle's eye.
-
Tie a knot at the end of the yarn that faces away from the needle's point. You'll leave the other end of the yarn alone and it will hang freely. That is ok!
-
Insert the needle in the back of the blanket and pull until the knot stops you from pulling further.
-
You will be making zig-zag stitches.
-
-
-
Insert the needle diagonally in the front of the blanket and grab the needle from the back.
-
Tightly pull the thread through.
-
Insert the needle diagonally again but this time from the back.
-
Repeat the zig-zag motion until you reach the top of the hole.
-
-
-
Once you reach the top of the hole, insert the needle through the front of the blanket and pull from the back.
-
Turn the blanket over so you see the back of the stitches.
-
-
-
To make a knot to secure the yarn, insert the needle through any stitch to create a loop.
-
Once you have a loop, insert the needle through the loop and pull until you have a knot. Repeat one more time.
-
Cut the remaining yarn close to the knot (but not too close), and now your hole is closed and secure.
