Are your cordless blinds not retracting like they are supposed to? If your blinds will extend when pulled down but not retract when pushed upward, the string that runs through the blinds has likely fallen off of the pulley within the top housing. Do not worry though, as there is way to solve this. This guide will help you fix this pesky annoyance.

    • Remove the clips that keep the blinds attached to the wall.

    • These should easily slide out.

    • Slide the angling rod off its hook.

  3. nYTGM4eiRPu3Bxtu
    • Locate the pulley where the string exits the top housing.

    • The string has likely fallen off of the pulley, causing too much resistance for the retraction mechanism to work properly.

  4. UVKo1pQZ1QwVKygm
    • Pull the shaft partially out of the housing.

    • The shaft is not supposed to come out of the housing all of the way. This step is meant to bend the shaft just enough so that the tweezers can reach behind it.

  5. i3hWMYdTSgNG6LnR
    • From the bottom of the housing, pull on the string that runs through the blinds.

    • This step is meant to add slack in the string.

    • Hold the slack by putting a finger through the loop it makes.

  6. YJ2QMTFHHduSLaoU
    • While holding the slack with your middle finger, and the shaft with your index finger, use the tweezers to grab on to the string from the top side of the housing.

    • Pull the string up and toward you as you remove your middle finger from the loop.

    • Test the blinds to see if they are working. If they aren't, check to see if the string has been realigned on the pulley and repeat the steps as necessary.

Enjoy your retractable blinds!
