How to Repair Maytag MRT311FFFE Frozen Ventilation System

Einleitung

The Maytag MRT311FFFE refrigerator vents are located in the freezer compartment and circulate cold air to the refrigerator. When items in the freezer block the vents, the airflow is disrupted, and ice often accumulates in the vents. As a result, the refrigerator doesn’t cool well. This guide will show the process of dismantling and clearing the vent for the correction of airflow, keeping your fridge and freezer cold.

Schritt 1

Set the temperature switch in the refrigerator to “OFF.”

Schritt 2

Remove all items from the freezer, including the freezer shelf.

Schritt 3

Use a 6 mm Allen key to remove the two 6.0 mm screws securing the freezer’s interior back cover.

Schritt 4

Gently pull the freezer’s interior back cover and set it face down on the bottom of the freezer.
It won’t completely come off since there’s a cable connected to the back cover.
Be careful not to dislodge any wires.

Schritt 5

Check the ventilator’s compartment for frozen blockages.
You can use a flashlight for a better look, or fish something long and thin into the compartment; if it hits something, it’s because it’s blocked with ice.

Schritt 6

Turn the hairdryer onto its "hot" or "warm" setting, then point it directly into the frozen ventilator’s compartments until the ice melts, clearing the vents.
Be careful not to overheat the surrounding plastic.
