If your dangling earring has suddenly fallen apart, making it unwearable, odds are the jump ring has opened a little too far. Although jump rings are made of soft, flexible metal, and fail easily and often, thankfully they're also very easy to repair.
To fix your jump ring, you only need a pair of tools that can be easily found in any hardware or arts-and-crafts store: two needle nose pliers.
As jump rings are very small, we recommend working in a well lit area.

Grasp the opposite side of the jump ring with your other pair of small needle noise pliers.

Gently twist the pliers in opposite directions until the gap is wide enough to reattach the jump ring to the ear wire.

Grasp the jump ring between your two pairs of pliers and push/twist the two ends of the ring toward each other, until the two ends meet and the gap is closed.

Your earrings are ready to be worn again!
