Cabin air filters are crucial for clearing the cabin of bacteria and dust, eliminating odors, and ensuring adequate airflow for defogging.
Over time, the cabin air filter becomes clogged from dirt and debris. It may be time to replace the filter if your car is smelling musty, or your heating/cooling is ineffective. If you do not replace your cabin air filter, you may begin to breathe in harmful pollutants like pollen and dust while driving, which can be especially harmful to people who suffer from asthma or allergies. It will also be difficult to defog your windshield, reducing your visibility.
Toyota recommends replacing your cabin air filter every 15,000 miles, and they charge a premium to do it. Use this guide to replace the cabin air filter in your 2002-2006 Toyota Camry yourself, saving you time and money. Replacement cabin air filters can be purchased at your local auto parts store.
