    • Lightly remove the canvas from the frame.

    • Not all paintings are nailed to their frame. If your painting is attached to the frame in an alternative way, contact the framing company to discuss ways to the safely remove the frame.

    • Rub the cotton-tipped swab on a small unnoticeable part of the painting to test a spot.

    • Wait a few minutes to see if the oil painting restorer caused damage to the painting.

    • You're looking for any obvious signs of damage such as paint chipping, discoloration, and bad order.
