All of the internal wiring needs to be connected. Soldering wires to the Faceplate ensures that your microphone will function properly.

    • Grab the microphone base with one hand. With the other hand, grab just below the grille (the collar). Twist the collar clockwise to loosen it.

    • Be careful to not pull on the collar or you may rip the wires from the faceplate.

    • Bend the wire around the contact point.

    • The yellow wire goes to the contact above the red lettering.

    • The green wire goes on the contact point with a “+” next to it.

    • In one hand, hold the solder. In the other hold your soldering iron.

    • Touch both the soldering iron and the solder to the contact point. The solder should melt and forge a connection to the face plate.

    • First, remove the solder and then the soldering iron from the contact point.

    • If you remove the soldering iron first, the solder may become stuck to the contact point.

    • Let the wire cool for 30 seconds or so.

    • If your wire is not completely connected, repeat steps 2-5 until the wire is reconnected.

Abschluss

After soldering, all of your wiring should be connected to the Faceplate inside of the microphone.

I just want to say Thank you! Simple complete instruction. Couldn't be easier.

I don't have a + on my plate, but several marks like one resembling Z, another one BB overlapped by 82 and A in the corner. Also I have 3 connection points (middle one is perhaps the black wire?), and 2 pairs of yellows and greens. Since I have version with switch, I suspect one pair of yellow and green being direct bypasses of the mic (you can see it coming from deeper in the body, while the other pair coming straight from the switch connection points).

In any case, how do I find out which colour for which connection point?

I couldn't tell you without looking at the mic, however I am sure you could find the answer by googling it and reading through forums. What exactly are you trying to do to the mic?
