I bought the iBT76 for myself to go wireless. I like having the extra space and lack of dust. It's a truly great product that lights up spaces. Unfortunately, it quit all of the sudden. Well, it was still working but no lights. I couldn't turn it on/off via the on/off switch.

    • Flip the on/off switch to off.

    • Flip the speaker over on and remove the label.

    • Remove the four phillips head screws.

    • Remove the bottom plate.

    • Unplug the white plug.

    • Plug it back in.

My apologies about the sticker, I finally figured it out. However the fix did not work for me. Once I unplugged the plug showed in the picture and plugged it back in it didn’t work so I even tried to unplug the other smaller one and still nothing. Any other suggestions ? Other than to throw it away and buy a new one.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge.!

OMG! Salemboot, you are absolutely incredible! First the lights went out, then it wouldn’t work without being plugged in, the charging light never came on, and it finally stopped working altogether…I was so disappointed. This was a gift with sentimental value so thank you very, very much!

Double OMG !! Thanks for making us Dad’s look cool to our kids. Worked like a charm. I would not have had the courage to tackle this without your post. My little guy loves this speaker and uses it all the time. He was heart broken when it failed. Now he thinks I can fix anything. Many thanks!!

How did you remove the bottom label?

How do I remove the label without breaking it??

Joel M -

EXACTLY! How do you?

To remove the bottom label use heat gun or hair dryer for a few seconds to unstick the glue.

Then use a finger-nail, guitar-pick, or a tiny flat-head screwdriver to peel it off.

The label is a sticker, you have to try to get something skinny like some tweezers to get into the small crack at the top. I wouldn’t use anything to heat it, since it has a battery and may explode lol

You are 100% THE MAN for this $@$*. Lol ! I was so skeptical at first but I was like “come on, why would someone on the internet lie, right?” Lmao. It wouldn’t work and I was afraid I would ‘break it-break it’… but I gave it a shot and your method worked PERFECTLY ! she’s so happy to have her speaker working again and I looked cool as $@$* taking it apart and “re-wiring” it (that’s what I said I was doing) lmaooo. Thank you !

Thank you! I kinda hate it when the solution is so simple, but I love that the solution was so simple :) I didnt even want to think about throwing away my favorite speaker.

Have a gooooooood day ;)

I was worried when my Ihome wouldn’t turn off fully. this worked! Thanks!

I could not figure it out either ?? Please explain

Mine apparently is different, I have a Ihome IBT76. It has a solid bottom with no sticker. The lettering is imprinted on the bottom of the speaker itself.

DJAmbuske -

Should still be a thick plastic sticker. Small box cutter should pry off the sticker.
