when the battery dead you need to set the system date every time the laptop starts. They guide shows you how I fix this with $1.

    • Just unscrew 4 screws to loose the KB, there are plenty guides / video on Google so I won't go in to details here.

    • Carefully disconnect the battery from the mainboard micro socket.

    • Cut the yellow plastic cover, try to cut if as half circle and KEEP it for later use.

    • The connector is soldered to the battery, use a small slot head screw driver to break the soldering slowly.

    • You may notice the battery is just a CR2025 cell, which costs $1

    • Transfer the blue plastic "ring" from the old battery to the new one, you can do it nicely by using a cutter. This isolation is essential to avoid the connector being short circuit

    • The metal part need to be flatten with a wire clamp or whatever can help you

    • It is difficult to solder the cell with home equipment. I used adhesive tape to stick the metal contacts to the cell, RED wire to +ve and BLACK/WHITE wire to -ve

    • You have to avoid the metal contacts from short circuit, adhesive tapes can help you

    • I didn't have the contracting tubes that fit the cell which is 2cm diameter. Remember the cut yellow shield in step1? Use it to cover the metal parts and reconnect the battery
