This guide will show you how to replace the RAM from your laptop. There are several reasons to replace your RAM. The most common reason is to increase your RAM memory. Other reasons could be that it could faulty or damaged.

    • Flip the laptop over and find the battery latch.

    • Move the latch to the side with the unlocked symbol.

    • Pry the battery out using your fingers.

    • Put on the anti-static wrist trap and clip it to a large metal object.

    • If you do not have an anti-static wristband, make sure to touch a large metal object to ground yourself before beginning to work on your replacement. Occasionally touch the metal object.

    • Using a screwdriver, loosen but do not remove the captive screw by turning counterclockwise.

    • One 3mm PH0 screw

    • Using your fingers, pry the small retention clips apart until the ram pops up.

    • Using your fingers, pull straight in line with the ram to remove it.

    • Repeat steps 3 and 4 if you want to remove the second ram stick.

    For the sake of people who can't see the images, like me, I looked up how much and what kind of ram it can take.

    Dr. Google says it can take "PC100, 144p SO DIMM, 3.3v, Sync," but I can't say that's correct, haven't tried it yet.

    From what I've read, it takes a max of 288MB, 2 x 128MB sticks. Yes, that is 32MB short of 288, but that''s what was suggested.
