Removing the back of the fan cage provides access to the motor housing.

    • Unplug your fan.

    • Remove the 20 mm bolt that fastens the fan ring located at the bottom of the fan cage with a Phillips #3 screwdriver.

    Missing details- when unscrewing the bottom bolt, add a side note to have the viewer hold both sides and add pressure to unscrew

    • Remove the ring that runs around the edge of the fan cage.

    • Remove the front of the fan cage.

    Missing details- when removing the fan cage, remind viewer to use both hands to remove the cage to avoid damage to the fan.

    • Remove the 8 mm bolt fastening the fan blades to the rotor with a Phillip #3 screwdriver.

    Prefer a picture taken from an upward angle, similar to the step beforehand, to reveal the screw.

    • Take caution when removing the fan blades. They can be sharp!

    • Slide the fan blade off the end of the rotor.

    • Unscrew the four 8 mm bolts that fasten the back of the fan cage back to the motor housing with a Phillips #3 screwdriver.

    Can also use the Phillips #2 screwdriver or state when using another screwdriver.
