Use this guide to replace the battery in your LG K30.

If your battery is swollen, take appropriate precautions.

This guide instructs you to remove the back panel assembly; this is intended to prevent damage to the display cables. If you feel comfortable supporting the display carefully while peeling the battery out of the LG K30, you can skip the display removal and go directly to the battery removal steps.

For optimal performance, after completing this guide, calibrate your newly installed battery: Charge it to 100% and keep charging it for at least two more hours. Then use your LG K30 until it shuts off due to low battery. Finally, charge it uninterrupted to 100%.

    • Before disassembling your LG K30, discharge the battery below 25%. A charged lithium-ion battery can catch fire and/or explode if accidentally punctured.

    • Power off your Phone before beginning disassembly.

    • Use the 'Jimmy' and 'Metal Spudger' to slowly pry open the outsides of the back case.

You forgot to mention to remove the SIM card. My card housing was bending up with the case inside the slot.

Thanks for mention that ! But you don’t have to take out SIM card or micro-SD card to remove just battery. We perform this task 3 to 4 times, all time battery and SIM card slot was safe. @Thomas_Tommy

There is a light adhesive around the edges so applying some heat to the plastic cover first (I use a hot plate at 80*c for about 5 minutes) and some alcohol along the edges will really help.

    • Remove the thirteen 3.4 mm Phillips #00 screws securing the midframe to the display assembly.

I thought I passed math class. I count thirteen screws, not nine.

    • Use a metal spudger or plastic opening tool to pry open the outer cover.

    • Use the flat end of a spudger to detach the battery connector from the logic board.

    • Use a spudger to pry the battery from the phone.

    • There may be an adhesive on the back of the battery and the phone. Pry the battery gently to prevent puncture or damage.

    • Do not bend or puncture the battery.

I can't believe how much adhesive was holding the battery. It took me over an hour to get the battery out. Do they always put a gang of glue on these battery's?

Are you sure a metal spudger isn't better suited for this task? I am currently doing this guide and my plastic ones barely did anything to the adhesive, while also occasionally bending and landing a few scratches on the battery's covering. Metal spudger eventually took care of it, but I am also worried about accidentally hitting a few things on the motherboard and that thw adhesive tore a small part of the battery's covering (which I put back since it was sticky, but now I am worried that I might have to replace the battery.

Apply a few drops of 91% alcohol along the two sides and the bottom edges of the battery, then place on a hot plate at 80*c for about five minutes. DON'T use a metal Uspudger;I use a plastic iFlex and go under the edges ofd the battery. You are right, the adhesive is extremely strong and unnecessary, but you have to remove it WITHOUT bending the battery if you plan on reusing it.

There's no description of removing the display or supporting it. Why is an LG K30 screen with frame required?
