This will walk you through the steps that are required to disassemble the LG Optimus V, and replace the antenna inside. Be cautious! Electronics can be delicate. Make sure to have the iFixit Opening tool and the Pro Tech Toolkit.

    • Turn the LG Optimus V over, so that the back cover is facing upward.

    • Locate the opening above the camera.

    • Use a spudger to detach the back cover.

    • Gently remove the battery with your spudger.

    • Use the plastic opening tool to remove the silver casing.

    • Use a plastic opening tool to remove each area holding the parts together.

    • Use a plastic opening tool to remove the small black and yellow piece that reads Y3114C.

    • Use a plastic opening tool to pry off the camera.

    • This part, circled in red, is the antenna.

    • Solder off the antenna, and solder on the new one. The antenna is now replaced.
