Removing the battery doesn't require any equipment, and does not have any steps that need to be completed prior to beginning the battery's removal. The battery may need to be replaced if the battery is too old and has expired. Use this guide to replace the battery in the Lenovo Essential G555-0873.

    • Locate the switches on the bottom of the computer on either side of the battery, as shown in the picture.

    • Push the switch on the right to the “unlock” position. There will be an audible click.
