This guide will show the necessary steps to be taken to replace the hard drive in a Lenovo Ideapad 320-15IAP. The hard drive may need replacement if you experience frequent crashes or hangups while accessing the computer’s memory, the computer has difficulty starting up, or if you notice corrupt files in repeated occasions. You may also want to upgrade your hard drive to a 2.5” solid state drive to increase your computer’s speed, which can also be accomplished using this guide.

    • Remove the CD reader with an opening tool. It is possible you have to apply a substantial amount of force so watch your fingers while doing so.

    • Lift the cover using the opening tool on different spots along the side of the laptop.

    • There may be some number of Phillips #0 screws holding down the hard drive, which will need to be removed before the drive can be unplugged. If you are following this guide and find the locations of such screws, consider contributing to this guide by documenting the process and adding it here.

    • Remove the hard drive by sliding it to the left to gently disconnect it from the black port on the right of the hard drive slot.

Need a close up pic of the actual port connector.
