Einleitung
Through this guide, you will be able to remove the Chromebook's keyboard from the back casing and expose the battery and motherboard underneath. The keyboard may need to be replaced if several keys are unresponsive, the keyboard as a whole is unresponsive, or the mouse/touchpad is unresponsive.

Power Down the Chromebook before starting the repair

Opening the Chromebook voids the manufacturer warranty

Flip the Chromebook so that the bottom is facing upwards

Use a Phillips #1 screwdriver to remove the eight 6.6 mm screws in the bottom.

Flip the Chromebook over and open the screen

Wedge the plastic opening tool between the keyboard and the bottom of the Chromebook

Be careful of the tabs on the inside of the keyboard and Chromebook, be cautious or these could break, too

Run the plastic tool along the seam, popping up the keyboard until you can freely lift up the keyboard

It is normal for the tabs to make a loud popping sounds when released. The corner tabs are harder to remove and will make a louder click when released.

Once the keyboard is released, grab the top two corners closest to the screen and slowly lift the keyboard up

Do not lift the keyboard too quickly, or you might break the two cables that connect the keyboard to the motherboard

The motherboard is now exposed DO NOT use any tools with metal, you may short circuit and fry the motherboard

Disconnect the cables by lifting up on the retaining tabs on the blank ZIF connectors

Slowly pull the cables up and out of the connectors

Lift the keyboard up and off of the back retainers, completely removing the keyboard from the Chromebook
